Wall Powered Case Fan?

I have a few extra lighted brushless corsair fans left over from my newest build, and I need some help trying to wall power them to cool my sound system drawer.  It should be pretty straightforward and easy, it is just a little different since it is a brushless motor and has 3 wires.  Any links to a good guide?

Wouldn't wall power be like.....WAY more than they can handle? I know for a fact that a rumble motor from a 360 controller can't take wall power...long story, blew the breaker, fried the rumble motor, was hilarious.

You cant just connect it to a wall outlet. Fans need 12V the wall outlet is 110V / 240V depending on where you are.

Isn't the problem with usb that it can only handle 5v?

I found some DC connectors to the wall that output at 12v, im gunna try that and see how it goes

I'l check that out if the DC 12v connectors don't work.  I'm trying to stay away from 5v because it just isn't quite powerful enough.

Popping a pc fan with 220v is quite fun, especially if you're still young and haven't quite grasped the 12/220v concept yet. But some fans are fine with 5v, I currently have 2 cooler Master fans cooling my laptop that's ghetto rigged to the USB ports

Well I got the fans to work and im not blown to pieces, so i would say im doing pretty good

now just gotta go to home depot and get the right size circle drill thingy mabobber.

And we knew it would fry the motor, we just wanted to do it. We had taken the controller apart, and were transplanting it into a cigar box, replacing all buttons with one way toggle switches. the kind that go back to the off setting when you let off of them.

 

Stupid project, I know, the sad thing is I was able to beat people at halo with that controller.
