Powerline - Ethernt Plug Efficiency

Go to solution Solved by TristanK,

From my own experience you will lose nothing or very very little

I was wondering if wen using these http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-TL-PA511KIT-Gigabit-Powerline-Adapter/dp/B005FVOKM8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1427530461&sr=8-8&keywords=tp+link+powerline+adaptersI would lose any speed in comparison to being plugged directly into the router (I won't be limited by the max speed of these because my operator wont go taht high anyways :D

Thanks,

James

I know some folks who have had some good results with powerline equipment however it does depend on the layout of your home wiring. You might find your home wiring is such that powerline stuff might not work.

It also should be noted that Powerline networking equipment interferes with shortwave radio reception AKA MW/LW radio. Newer models have also been known to cause interference to FM and DAB radio too. Just a thought.
