Hello;

I have a problem; my issue is that I'm going for a black/red color scheme and I've looked everyone and FINALLY found a MOBO that's red/black that is actually cheap(its 100, but $80 after rebate) I've even ordered a black keyboard with a red backlight and red LED strips it's awesome, my ram is also red/black!

but there's a problem...

its only a H97 :o  :o :o

I'm sad because I may want to overclock in the future but the z97 that are black/red, or even black for that matter are about $135($109.99 on newegg after $25 rebate)

As of right now I can't even overclock my CPU because its a i3 4160, but I'm obviously going to upgrade to a i5 or i7 later and I may want to overclock and overclock my gpu, I really don't want to have to purchase a new motherboard later..

Should I just ditch the color scheme idea and just get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157508&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Should I get the z97? Or does this sh*t even matter? lol.

Thanks guise. :P

I have no idea what I'm doing

Get the asrock mobo and if you really want the black and red color, you can probably paint the powerdelivery and chipset heatsinks relatively easily.

Don't get H97 if you're going to overclock... If you really want that red/black color scheme still then find a Z97 board with one.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

I heard the fatal1ty is really good. It's only 106, so you should just go for it. MIR are sometimes sketchy and takes a while so you basically won't be getting most of your MIR's back anyways.
