I have switched to Linux and generally I'm happy with it, but there are some annoying issues with the graphics:

 

The Video-Output of Mupen64Plus hangs if I reset the emulator (F9). Sometimes even while playing.

Videos in VLC sometimes have the same problem, the video plays, but the video-output hangs. If I minimize the window and restore it the output is black. Only a restart of VLC or the entire system helps.

 

I guess this is an issue with OpenGL, but I don't know what exactly this is and how to fix it.

 

I have a Gainward GeForce 9500GT passive Graphicscard with the recommended nvidia driver (according to KDE's driver information it's version 331.113)
