Hallo friends, to try getting a better overclock I changed my Base Clock instead of only changing my multiplier.

My Base Clock is 109 with a multiplier of 44 (4.8 GHz), and my ram is running at 1700 MHz

Should everything be fine or is there anything else I need to change?

1.362 V btw

Temps are fine, I know degradation is a thing but I'm not concerned

Why do people change base clock?

Always wondered :P

Dont base overclock ever, Its the worst type of OCing. Stick to Multiplier.

The thing about your BLK clock is that its used by many of the buses and chips on your motherboard to determine there speeds and things like that, including PCI-E rates that are set at 100 by default.

Bumping your BLK means that your forcing some buses and other parts of the motherboard faster than what they should be going (they are not built for OCing). Typically what you will find first is some system instability in the form of your GPU driver crashing in games (as you have adjusted the BLK clock from its 100 its now out of spec of PCI-E and causes issues).

Quack 🦆
