@OP. Since you're out there looking for a new GPU, how about buying it now, see how the performance turns out and if you are pleased with the FPS an overall experience, and then decide wether or not keep the FX.

With DX12 around the corner, future games will give a better experience, although I cannot say the same for the current ones.

If the thread was about a new build, then I would definitely tell you to go intel, but since you have the CPU, and you have money for a new GPU(or at least I think), it makes more sense to buy the GPU first.

Even if the performance will not be the best, it will definitely be an improvement over your current setup. If you won't like it, then you'll be able to sell the FX and mobo and get an i5 4460 or 5xxx when it's realeased with a cheap motherboard.

I don't see any point in getting an SLI setup if you'll stay 1080p, let alone a 970 SLI.

I'm kinda against graphs, numbers, benches and other stuff like that, because everybody seems to be "OMG, 32 minium FPS, that's unplayable, go Intel you'll have 16510651FPS". It might be true, but from my current experience with my 8350, i don't see any kind of stutter. I see frame drops, but no stutters.

What I mean ,let's take World of Tanks for example. Everybody knows how shitty this game's opitimized and how bad it relies on one core to do the job.

I'm playing maxed out(except for motion blur, and vegetation since it interferes with the gameplay) at 1440x900 with an R9 270. Most of the time, game runs at 60FPS(VSync ON). Sometimes it drops, but it's a consistent 45-50FPS. It's not stuttering going lower to like 20s or sth, not even when effects like explosions and stuff occur.

I personally think that if you have the FX, there's nothing wrong if you buy the GPU and test it yourself, see if YOU are pleased.
