Swan M10 popping when a lamp or fan is turned on

Hi,

I finally got my swan m10 speakers from massdrop last week. The speakers where supposed to ship January 20 or 21.

 

anyways, the speakers are making a popping noise every time I turn on a fan or lamp.

 

Which makes me assume that the speakers are not properly grounded.

 

besides buying a UPS, is there any other solutions?

Definitely get a Surge Protector which can protect your gear, and most can check for grounding faults.  Alternatively, get a cheap multimeter that is properly rated and ensure your outlets are good.
