Switching from Monitor to TV gaming.

bydus

I use my pc on my desk to play fps games and work but I like to play on the TV with controller for some single player games. I have my tv conncted via 10meter hdmi cable and moniotor is connected via dvi. I was wondering if there is some quick way to switch audio, because when I do windows key+P i navigate to other screen but I have to manually change the audio default output to hdmi TV - can this be done automatically ?

You could use autohotkey to create a key binding

You could also do it the ghetto way and just unplug one cable and plug in the other.

That's what I would do. I can't be bothered to screw around with creating hotkeys.

takes 10 seconds, and you will never have to bend over and unplug cables again :P

I wrote my own software that did it, but there are a couple - SoundSwitcher allows you to do it and bimd to a hot key, but it didn't work on some of my analog equipment. But then I have 6 audio devices on my PC so it might have been overloaded.

Many thanks, will try it :)

Yes, that's extremely difficult. :)

It's also easy to just switch audio playback device from the motherboard or sound card to the Nvidia HD Audio device in the Sound control panel. I think you might be missing the point, though. OP wants a shortcut.
