GPU: Nvidia GTX 760 EVGA SuperClocked ACX ~280-320€ (changed)

(changed)

Monior: Don't mind the monitor for now (probably IPS, 24-27 inch, Full HD, under 5ms re, 300€)

Note: I'm not sure if I'm going to overclock immediately, but I thing that it's better if I buy an unlocked CPU so I can overclock later on..

Thanks for any help  :D

Case: Z11 Plus (has a nice window and has a cpu cutout to install your cpu cooler)

PSU:  Corsair TX650/ XFX Core 650W

Motherboard: Asus Z87-A

CPU: Intel 4670K

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (low profile version because the version that you choose may interfere with your cpu cooler due to its height)

GPU: MSI Twin Frozr 7950/ HIS IceQ X2 7950 (great cards that can do some high overclocks, can be overclocked to beat the reference 7970)

HDD: Seagate 1TB Barracuda/ Caviar Black 1TB (if you want reliability, 5 year warranty)

Optical Unit: Asus BW-12B1ST BD-DVD

OS: Windows 8

Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013

Monitor: Acer B243PWL

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo for small overclocks/ H220 for high overclocking (overclocking depends on how overclocable your chips is because each chip is different)

Thanks for replying.. I'm almost definitely going with Nvidia cards though.. The hardest thing to pick for me is a good motherboard that will be fine for overclocking (nothing extreme) around $140. And It's a shame that I live in Europe (Slovenia) cause everything is more expensive than in US or Canada :( ...

Oh.. Do you think It's too much if I later on throw an Corsair H100i in?

I would be great if you placed a H100i in it because the chip that you will get may get very hot in small overclocks or not depending on how much voltage you need to put on the chip so I would just try some overclocking on the 212 Evo and if it doesn't keep the overclocked cpu cooled then get a H100i/ H220 (if you can afford it).

Why Nvidia? Are you doing any editing/rendering?

You can probably find a 7950 for the same price of a 760 and the 7950 flat out beats the 760.

Well AMD definitely isn't bad but I like Nvidia because they are more energy efficient and I really like effects like PhysX.. I'm probably more into nvidia because I had more experience with it and I haven't tried AMD yet..

Cards like the 7770 and 7850 uses very little power. Energy consumption usually depends on a card by card basis.

AMD's $100-300 card is generally offering better performance for value compared to Nvidia right now. For example, the 7850 is $140 after rebate and beats the 660 which is $180 after rebate.

There's not much of a difference in how you use an AMD card and a Nvidia card other than the control panel and those are quite easy to pick up.

Okay so tomorrow I am going to order the parts.. But I have a few last-minute changes. First and main thing is the case. I'm not going to buy zalman z11 plus because of that stupid USB 3.0 connector (It's not internal). For the card I will probably go with EVGA GTX 760 SuperClocked ACX and I'm not going to buy a blu-ray drive because I don't really need it.

If anyone has any experience with Cooler master 690 II Advanced (USB 3.0) please tell me how you fell about it or if you have any recommendations for a good case around 100 dollars.

The 760 will be a better buy then the 7950, good choice. For a $100 you could get something like the fractal design r4.

As far as I have deduced I have seen is a indecision on the motherboard but also no updates on which parts you want in your system and allowing forum member to make suggestions to you. Question ? atx , matx , or itx on the case & motherboards , wither or not you are in the future your going to water cool or not, do you have the same budget or did you amend it

I am going for an ATX board that can handle some overclocking (nothing extreme I'm a n00b at overclocking).. So I was thinking of something around 150 USD

The CM 690 II is a pretty good case imo that has great cable management (Found a guide on it: http://www.cmhd.tv/index_blog.php/how-to-cable-manage-in-the-cm-690-ii-advanced/1272). If you want a solid case that doesn't have much plastic, the C70 is a good choice.

Other than shadow play, no. The 7950 flat out beats the 760. The difference is even more pronounced when both cards are overclocked.

I have ordered the parts... If anyone is interested this is the build:

Case: Cooler Master Centurion 690 II nVidia Edition USB 3.0
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast Series V2 750W
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
CPU: i5 4670k
RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz

GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SuperClocked ACX
SSD: Samsung 840 Series SSD 120 GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 14'' 1TB
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B5ST DVD-+RW

OS: Windows 8
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder 2013

Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo was sadly to big for the RAM slots so I guess I'm going on Intel Stock cooler for a while :D

Any z87 board will do. You only need premium overclocking boards if you're shooting for 4.8 or more ghz.

Ram faster than 1600 offer no more performance for gaming. Save your money. Also, get lower profile ram.

The psu is overkill. A good 600-700w will be more than enough to have a 760 sli. For just one, a good 500w will do.

Pretty Solid build.

My friend have the CM 690 (old one) and according to him it's a good case, Very cool (in temps) but not really worth it.

I think Fractal design R4 or 400R Is more appealing.

And I know this is personal preference (And kinda fanboy thingy)

But what about getting other Mechanical Keyboard.

either Quickfire TK or Ducky or something else.

According to some people there are better keyboard for the price.

MB :MSI Z77a G45 | Proc: I5 3570K (Stock) | HSF : CM 212X turbo | RAM : Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2X4GB) | VGA : MSI GTX 660 Twin Frozr | PSU : Corsair GS600 | Case : CM Storm Enforcer | Storage :  OCZ Vector 128GB, WD Blue 500GB , Samsung 840 Evo 120GB, WD Blue 1TB

I am happy with this RAM, but the only thing that annoys me is tha fact that I can't mount Hyper 212 Evo.. I am going to run stock for a while anyway. What are my options for good air cooling that will fit over the high profile ram?

You could put the fan on the other side pulling the air of the heatsink to the rear in order to use this cooler.

For a monitor a good 24" is perfect size for the human eye to look at, any bigger you would also need a higher resolution so i would recommend a LCD LED back lit high quality 24" monitor to your build, as at the end of the day its the thing you look at for a long time.

shame you didn't get a blu ray player (unless you already have one) there good to futureproof your system.

only other thing i can suggest is get a good after market cooler, even if its a simple small sealed liquid cooler like the Zalman LQ 315 or 320 would be way way better than the stock cooler.

everything else looks good :)

got to love Asus components

Modern systems are moving away from dvd drives. Blu ray players are a waste of money imo.

A stock cooler will be fine if the OP is not overclocking.
