Where can I get a reference cooler?

sina

So, long story short: I ended up buying an EVGA ACX 980 last year when the reference cards were out of stock across the board. I kinda regret my decision though, because the reference 980 just looks so much sexier. Also, the blower design might actually perform better since my case fans would be pointing directly at the intake.

I guess my question is this: is there any way I can obtain the cooler by itself now? I looked on eBay and found nothing, which is rather unfortunate.

I don't think that it would even fit.

The card I have is completely a reference design, just the coolers have been swapped for a custom one (if I'm not mistaking). Most of the early 980s were like this.

Contact Digital Storm, EVGA or even NVIDIA themselves for a stock GTX 980 cooler. They should sell you one.

eBay would've been your best bet

believe the 970 has the same reference cooler, so if you found a 970 cooler you might be able to slap it on

Honestly though your going to have a tough time

Try putting a wanted ad in the classifieds?

Also correct, I didn't even think about that

But it might be a tad expensive

It may be, though IIRC it should be about $50.

EVGA wasn't of any help (I mean after all, the ACX is their flagship cooler).

I'll try Digital Storm and NVIDIA, but I have to ask first: why Digital Storm of all companies?

I know that they take the coolers off of the cards to watercool them, and in the past I have remembered Nav (@digitalnav) saying to me that they sold them.

Fair enough. I'll give them a call soon to ask. If that proves futile...@digitalnav pls.
