So, I did a google search, and found nothing that can satisfactorily answer this problem.

Whenever I open Google Chrome, under any circumstances, it hangs for about 10 seconds before I am able to do ANYTHING. As someone with a near $1500 PC, I find this completely unacceptable.

I have tried:

-uninstall and reinstall

-clearing cache data

-clearing temp files

-checking "allow hardware acceleration

-clearing browser history

-disabling plugins

What really pisses me off the most, is that when I first installed Chrome, it was fast, as fast as I remember Firefox being before that whole "won't travel to www.google.com bug I encountered". And yet, after a certain length of time (after both installations of chrome) it starts hanging up opening it. And yeah, I know, 5 seconds isn't really a big deal, but it's f**king annoying as hell sometimes. Especially considering the amount that I use my computer each day (roughly.....90% of the time I am awake?).

Am I the only one that gets this problem, even with a "high end" machine? I'm beginning to consider switching back to Firefox, I just worry about that stupid bug I had where when I try to go to google, I get an error page that says "travel to webpage halted" or something, basically Firefox saying "fuck you, I don't want to go to www.google.com", which I have encountered on two computers.

Thoughts? Can we get some of the forums uber-nerds in on this? I'm not asking about this just for myself, I'm asking for anyone else who has this problem, feel free to post your own attempted/failed fixes etc.

I've the same issue with my old arse laptop. Hard to judge why, given the laptops a piece of crap and your system is quite expensive.
I miss the days when chrome was really light...

That's the weird thing about this. Also, judging by the cursor blinking in the search bar, when I first open it, nothing happens, but when I click on it and try to start typing, that's when the hangup occurs.
