Since I might get a new job in the next few weeks, I was looking for a new rig. I've done the calculations and can afford $1700 a month, but the catch is that I do a bit of everything; post-processing, modding, content creation in general, gaming, and basic AV creation. Knowing all of this, would anyone have any suggestions for parts and/or specs for it? I can upgrade for the next few months as well, but I was thinking something like this:

-16 or 32GB of 1866 or 2033 MHz RAM.

-2 2TB WD Blacks or something similar with capacity, reliability, and performance.

-Either 2 R9's or one killer GPU (GTX700 or 900 series).

-A heavy duty motherboard, most likely something from Asus.

-If I have enough left over, an i5 or i7 with enough kick for both AV work and gaming.

-I don't know much about PSU's, but I was thinking around 800 or 1000 Watts.

-Maybe a new monitor<?>

-I COULD go with watercooling, but I'm not exactly that experienced with it and might just find some AIO solutions.

So is there something that could sustain light amounts of the workload and then be later upgraded in the subsequent months? I have the ability to create a base rig and then just add on to it later, so does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

A motherboard would be the least of your concerns. I suggest an i5 4590k and either a gtx970, gtx980, or an r9 290x

16GB of ram is only necessary for serious VFX or 3D rendering 800 W power supply should be more than enough and the 212 EVO is a nice cheap AIO
