TV - Server

Hi, I was wondering what kind of connection I would need to make a proper connection from my server to a TV and be able to manage files from there, thanks. I mean it sounds like I would need a computer or something lol to search for the files on the server but I could be wrong.

Any "smart" tv, with an ethernet connection should be able to do the basics.

As long as it has the proper permissions to access files.

A smart TV is just a TV that has some apps that run in the TVs proprietary system.

To serve media content from your server to the apps on the Smart TV will probably require some service software/program to be running on the server.

Depending on what the app client is dictates how it will be fed the media content on your server.

For example.  If it was a PLEX client app on the TV then the server would need to have the PLEX host service running on the server.

What is the app on the smart tv that you want to enable access to your content that is on the server?  I would research that App to see how they instruct you to setup your server containing the content.
