Hi, I am getting a download speed of 9 megabytes.. wth And upload speed of 4.23 megabytes... I don;t know if it is my isp's problem or my router. I am pretty sure its my router's problem because it is a really old netgear one that I got when I got my first computer which was like around 2005 or 2005 I forgot and we havnt switched routers since. We have switched modems due the change of isps but thats not the problem. And I don't think it would be my isp's fault because I am paying for 60 mbps and this is charter by the way. So I am planning on switching routers. So if someone knows it is my router's fault due the the crappy speed please recommend a good router to me thanks. Nothing above 250. I have also been looking into these ones.

Can you please clarify if you really mean megabytes and not megabits? If you are getting 9MB/sec down from a 60Mb/s connection then you are ahead of the curve.

Can you run a speedtest and post a screenshot of the results?

The Asus router is your best bet but I'd personally recommend this Netgear router (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122326&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Network%20-%20Wireless%20Routers-_-Netgear%20Inc.-_-33122326&cm_sp=&AID=10440897&PID=2859336&SID= ). My friend has it and says it's works flawlessly.

By the way, I think you mean Megabits not Megabytes.

Lol all those overkill router recommendations for a 60Mbps line...

By the way what ISP are you on and what area are you in? How many devices are using the connection? How far is the device in question away from the router?

Have you tried hooking up directly with an ethernet cable? If you get substantially better speed on ethernet, then yes it is your router that is crapping out.

If you want a better connection for your laptop/desktop, remember the wireless adapter is also a factor in the bandwidth you can get out of the router.

Its pointless getting a 1900Mbps router when the adapter can only handle ~300Mbps.

router is 1 room away using charter and no one else uses the internet at this time.

If you can somehow connect your desktop or a laptop to the router with ethernet cable, you can check if your wifi is the issue because you don't get wifi issues when on a wired connection.

By the way I'm using that same adapter. Its great :)
