Okay so im having a problem with text not displaying correctly AT ALL in a few steam games.

Much like this (if the attached files dont desplay right): http://imgur.com/BuA9FNO

I have no idea why its desplaying like this. So far its only Borderlands 2 and System Shock 2.... I have a feeling that the #2 keeps screwing everthing up lol.

Im running Ubuntu 14.04 if that helps and or could be the problem. And also i have tryed redownloading it with the same effects....

Have you tried disabling the steam overlay? Someone reported a similar problem and it fixed it: http://www.reddit.com/r/Borderlands/comments/2ifd87/borderlands_2_text_screwed_up_on_linux/

SOOOOOOOOO literally something almost no one uses okay its off lol ill try it again in a few lol

You must be new to PC gaming or Steam in general. It's safe to assume that almost all Steam users use Steam Overlay. It has a web browser, FPS counter, music player, mod downloader, records your gameplay time, chat, etc. Even people such as myself go out of our way to add non-Steam games such as Battlefield to use the overlay. Saying that, "no one uses the overlay" is ignorant. From your comment I'm guessing you don't even use half of the other useful features that Steam has such as Steam Big picture, Steam Music, Steam Broadcasting, Steam In-Home streaming, Steam Market, Steam Workshop, etc.
