Ok, so just compiled a PC build using AMD FX, saving where I could to get a good graphics card. Here it is:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor  (£109.00 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard  (£39.59 @ Aria PC)
Memory: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£47.30 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (£40.00 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card  (£130.75 @ CCL Computers)
Case: Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case  (£37.91 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (£37.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer  (£10.55 @ CCL Computers)
Monitor: BenQ GL2250HM 60Hz 21.5" Monitor  (£91.19 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £544.27(~750 USD)

Any improvements I can make?

I would advise going for an i5 if you can, especially if the PC is for gaming

the stock AMD cooler is a piece of trash so get an aftermarket cooler

go for 2x4gb ram for dual channel - unless you are planning to get another 8gb soon

otherwise it looks good

Well for starters that motherboard is going to struggle with that CPU, you will need a more expensive board, and a decent aftermarket cooler for the CPU, the stock cooler is useless.

What the people before me said.

I can only achieve 4690k frames on my 8350 when it is overclocked to its god damn limit.

So in other words, dont do it

Right, so basically scrap this whole idea. Will do.

Just the motherboard and CPU, look for an i3 and a cheap motherboard if your on a tight budget and want to game, and if you can afford one buy an i5.

its just the AMD cpus are not great for gaming, evne an i3 can beat them in certain games, the i5 is really where its at for a gaming rig - if you dont need to overclock the stock cooler on an i5 will do fine, get the cheapest i5 4440/4460 or similar a cheap board

the rest of your PC is fine, the 280x is great bang for buck and the rest of your PC is fine
