GRAPHICS VS

Go to solution Solved by Atmos,

currently I'm on 1842x1036 :P custom at 60hz

I will go on a 4k In the future, what will be better for 4k ?

Then personally, I'd get the 290x 8gb. more vram, makes 4k run a bit better,

If resolution == 4k then

set.GPU("R9 290X 8gb")

else

set.GPU("R9 290X 4gb")

I'm lost ??

mid level gaming, would like to run highest levels in game but the games are mostly strategy games

I have the phantom 820 so size is not a factor right (I don't need to remove drive bays?)

do I need to upgrade to water cooling if I don't plane to do much overclocking (low auto maybe)

if so will the Corsair or NZXT solutions work on them both ?

Pease do recommend other cards if you see the need !

thanks

Beni

You don't need to water cool them. Air cooler is just fine. What resolution are you at? It it's not 4K, I'd say a 970 would be better.

The projects never end in my line of work.

The 980 is more expensive , it is also faster.

But a 295x2 is much faster than a 980 at almost the same price.

The gtx 980 is overpriced.

You can get a single 290x 4 Gb now an crossfire later.

No it won't help in games. 16 is overkill for most games.

And system RAM speed doesn't matter for games.

Lordy lordy nope.

Unless youre running an APU memory speed barely makes a difference, even in content creation. You should in a gaming pc with mild content creation only shoot for a maximum of 16gb of system ram. If you're only gaming then 8gb is perfectly fine.

Not for what you're doing. 16gb of 2133 would probably be the sweet spot.

You won't take advantage of super high clocked ram. Save some money and get 2 of those.

That sounds like some xbox resolution...

Anyways, get one 290x/970 and when you play at 4k sometime in the future just add a 2nd one.
