move my processor to new motherboard

 

should i clean and add new thermal compound to my new motherboard ?

yup, always apply new paste after youve taken off the cooler

good toilet paper (doesn't crumble to pieces) [lint free]

good paper towel (doesn't crumble to pieces)[lint free]

[lint free] cloth.

 

if you want to make it easier use some isopropyl alcohol with one of the above,otherwise simply use plenty of elbow grease,fold over to a clean side and continue.

and repeat that until you can rub the processor or the heatsink (do both) and no thermal grease residue remains on the cloth/paper towel/toilet paper.
