Hello , I just finished my sleeving , got my mobo and gpu cables working ( after some troubleshooting ) , and then I checked on the hdd and sata cables .

But the cable wont give any power to the hdd , none of the two rows of sata will . I double checked the cables , found an error with the allingment of the sata cables ( the yellow wire and the black wire finished in each others destination in the next connector ) and fixed it . But nothing . I also tried powering up another hdd to be sure , but it wouldn't power it either , so it is deifnitely a cable problem . Can you please help me solve this problem because it is driving me up a wall .

thank you in advance ,

Yes I do . I suppose that you'll tell me to check on the cables . how do i check that in a sata connector and what readings should I get ?

You should get reading as shown in the picture below.

Note that the "Orange" wire is mostly left out / not used.

I have looked such pinout before , I think that ( not sure why :P ) I have put the red wire into the yellow wire connection . I guess that that is the problem . if the problem insists I will try the voltometer and share the results here .

thank you for the help  guys :)

If you placed the red cable where the yellow goes, there shouldn't be a problem,

but if you also put the yellow one in the place where the red goes, you probably fried something.

Oh ... fck . so my hdd is dead ?

You probably fried the circuit on the HDD, Data is probably still there, don't worry. I suggest taking it to a data recovery store or something.

If you did what I said, then most likely yes and no, probably only the logic board could have been damaged,

you can try to get a new one for the exact same model of your hard drive, but you should check with another power cable, and make sure the cables are in their right position this time.

Yup, your data should be fine if you can fix the logic board.
