There is a second-hand P55 board I'm looking at, it's perfect for my needs, except the tab thingy that clicks when you insert the GPU happens to be missing. 

Would this be too much of an issue since I'm running dual GPU setup, therefore I have to use the upper slot.

 

I know that the card is screwed in at the rear of the case but would it still be secure enough? No risk of cracking the card, etc?

shouldn't be a problem, some boards dont have locks on the pcie anyway.

 

I wouldnt be moving the case around while its on though 

That might be an issue, I was planning on selling the system once I build it

my MSI P31 Neo board PCI-E slots do not have the locking pin

 

all you need to secure the GPU is just install screws on the GPU to the bracket on the case

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

k good, so generally it should be fine for transport?

 

They aren't very long GPUs by any means (ASUS GTX 560 DirectCU)

i will suggest ship them as seperate items

 

shipping with the GPU intact may break the fingers

damn, that is a bit annoying

 

especially considering the buyer might not know how to build the pc
