Hi,

Recently my games have been freezing up and giving me temporary black screens, most notably Witcher 2.  The screen will go black, flash one or two times, then return to the game.  The audio continues throughout.  This happens both when running games off of my SSD and off of my HDD.  Graphics card is a GTX 560ti SOC with latest drivers.  Temps are normally about 70 degrees.

Full system specs:

i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz, GTX560ti SOC, 12GB RAM, 120GB Corsair SSD, 1.5TB WD hard drive

If you need to know anything else, just let me know!

Thanks  :D

I would try running Heaven benchmark to make sure it is not the games' problem.

Sure. Faulty.

Maybe underclock the stock settings in something like EVGA Precision. It's possible that you have some "faulty" vram.

It could also be your power supply.

What power supply are you using (to the OP)?

Corsair 750Watt.  Probably ~5 years old now.

Ran Heaven yesterday, everything ran just fine.

Haven't gotten this problem in iRacing and some other games, but it happens occasionally in Rising Storm and Metro: Last Light.  Haven't been playing a ton of different games recently, but I could give a few other games a try.

Might be the drivers because Nvidia drivers are a bit buggy right now. What driver are you using?

320.18

I could try going back to and older driver and see if that helps.

Yea this was the driver that had problems with games. I would look in your C:/Nvidia folder to find installations of older drivers.

I actually deleted them to free up space

I'll just find an older one to download and test it out, thanks!

EDIT:  Looks like NVIDIA just released a new driver, I'll give it a shot.  Supposedly they fixed the issues.

I would have to agree with @mgsstar here that it would be a driver problem. Flashing black and coming right back after would be probably Windows stating "The display driver stopped working and recovered successfully." message.

had that crash before in Windows 8 everything froze and I am pretty sure that I had a black screen for a moment and then it says on the desktop that error.
