Hi! I recently bought the msi gtx 970 oc (overclock edition) which has the logo of afterburner. I can't find any information or review that says what's the difference between gtx 970 oc and gaming edition or the rest of the gtx 970. I am still buying components for pc build so can't test yet.if someone knows what's the deal with the msi gtx 970 oc afterburner I would like to know as well. Thanks! :-D

This card has a basic blower-style cooler and lower clock speeds. Otherwise, there is little-no difference between it and the other MSI 970's.

Blower is not a bad thing. Just that their twin frozer fans are pretty great. Not sure if the fans turning off function is in this one. Maybe someone knows about that. I'll look it up though haha.

From what I read up on their site, the OC version doesn't have the completely turn off fan feature (from what I see). The Gaming version is more quiet and has their new heat pipe layout.

Not to sure about that my friend. Unless you implement one of those water block coolers that you can put on your graphics card.

It's not generally. Basic blowers cause the GPU itself to run hotter then "aftermarket" cooled cards with two/three fans, but aftermarket cards cause everything else in your PC to run hotter.

Ok then thanks for the fast info! Now I at least know what I bought, cause when i was buying the msi edition that i heard it was good I didn't know there was a gaming edition. At least I have the x99s mpower oc as well so they are matching names :-D
