Speaker wire help!

I recently got some new bookshelf speakers, but can't figure out which wire is red and which is black, one of the wires from the speaker has a silver sort of dotted line going down one side, and the other is solid black. (The speakers are Magnavox AH307M 3701s)

Black and silver is the 'red' one. The way I remembered it is that it's text sometimes instead of dotted lines. 'Red - (w)Riting'

actually it doesn't matter which is which as long as they match up...no cross wires.
