sounds like you forgot the 4/8 Pin PSU cable

by 4/8 pin did you mean cpu? my mobo has a 4 pin and it is plugged in

hm, strange...

check if the pins themself aren't pushed out of the connector, had this problem before and I thought my PSU was broken

Do you have some kind of status led or beep code you can read out? thoes often help a bunch! Ususally if you mobo does not have a post code readout there is a speaker you can plug in where the front io like power button etc are plugged in... check weather you have one of those the codes can be decoded with the manual. 

Also is your old psu broken? if you just replaced it and it still works, try if the computer starts up with your old or even another psu, which you might have laying around.

i tried it again with my old psu, and it workes just fine. My monitors speakers did nothing, and my mobo doesnt have any staus leds/beeps
