Transfer to SSD help.

Hello, I'm thinking about upgrading my laptop to an SSD and I needing to know how or what program I can use to transfer my boot drive (and everthing else) with. Nevermind telling me what brand of SSD to get or the run-on sentence above (lol). I just need to know before I buy.

One method is to create a windows backup from the current drive and then use the windows install disk to install the backup onto the new drive. (Assuming your on windows and that I proccesed your question correctly )

Most? That's kind of helpful. Ok, what ones? Preferably 1tb??? I'm currently eyeing the Samsung 850 EVO and the Crucial MX200.

I can't speak for crucial but Samsung's migration software actually works really well and any idiot can use it due to its simplicity. All you need is a USB to Sata adapter which might come with it though I'm not sure

You can use a cloning program to transfer your OS to the SSD. I personally use Acronis True Image WD Edition and you can download it from here in case you have a WD hard drive:
