Hard Drive Vibration

So I recently put together my new build. Everything went flawless during it and it turned out quite great. I've noticed that the hard drive is vibrating a lot when I'm using my PC though for some reason. I've talked to my friend about it who has the same build, he said that he's not experiencing the same thing. I'm not quite sure if this is something I should be worried about or not. Anybody know what is going on? Thanks.

What case do you have?

 

You'll probably need to suspend it with elastic or wire, something like this, I had to do it with my HDD.

Use rubber dumpers.

Also try WD raptor hard drive - then u'll understand what really does cause vibrations.

What case do you have? Did it come with rubber grommets? If not you can always use some type of rubber between it and the drive cage. Drive vibrations are not good for the drive in general.

I have a corsair 450d. It comes with little hard drive trays that you just slide the hard drive into.

^^^ If you can, try finding some way to suspend it like in the picture, it solved my issue and I don't know what else to recommend.

 

My Arc Midi R2 had vibration mounts and they didn't do anything.

The metal on the top and bottom of the Arc Midi R2 is very flimsy, strength is poor, it's horrible for noise.

 

Would not recommend my case to anyone for that reason.

Cut up a rubber band and screw those in between the drive and the drive tray.

That's no different than an anti-vibration mount.

I find suspending with wire dissipates way more of the vibration, because of the length it has to travel before actually reaching the case.
