Pixelmon server issues, needs java 7

I need java 8 to run various other programs, but this says when I run the server that it requires java 7. Can I configure it to run with 7 instead of 8 somehow?

yes, you run the server with a batch file, right?

change the

java

to

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe"

and it should now use java 7

make sure you include the quotes

Yes, the server starts but now no one can join and everytime I refresh my client, it says lost connection : (ip)

first delete all your outdated java versions here:

http://java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp

 

then download java 7 version 67

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase7-521261.html

look for the one called 

• Server JRE (Java SE Runtime Environment) 7u67
