Any ideas on which 1000w PSU is great for value and money?

In that area, NEVER go for non-branded ones since it can be highly dangerous.

Corsair/Seasonic/EVGA/Cooler Master would be good options for you.

But we'll need to know a budget first before we can really advise you one.

Laptop - Asus TUF FX504GM

Why do you need a 1000w unit? What's your system specification?

The OP is from New Zealand. So I have some time to check out the NZ market...

- EVGA Supernova 1000w G2 : http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1937972

Techworld is grayed out (?) at $283.82...I'm just going to ignore it (as well as any others) and say the $359.48 is the lowest at AlphaCity.

- Cooler Master V1000 - PC Force - $325 : http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1964794

- Corsair RM1000 - Cheapest is $294.84-$299, but doesn't seem to be in stock. PC Force - $309 : http://pricespy.co.nz/search.php?s=1000w

- Corsair HX1000i - Computer Lounge - $359.95 : http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=2768793

- Antec High Current Pro Platinum 1000w - Might Ape - $383.89 : http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=757596

- Seasonic Platinum 1000w - Computer Lounge - $399.95 http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1026811

Is it just me, while the price is rather inflated, the pricing seem a bit more "proper" and is going up to reflect their quality and / or feature set with the exception of the Seasonic...However, there's a few grayed out sites, that may be a priced much more competitively (such as the EVGA 1000w G2), but I'm unsure what does it being grayed out entails.

Anyways, here's a post I had made regarding the HX1000i vs the Supernova P2 (briefly mentioned the G2) : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/322672-simple-corsiar-hx1000i-or-evga-supernova-1000w/?p=4385960

Between those G2 and HXi, I feel that the HXi is a better value thanks to semi-passive mode, FDB fan, and the features that it has while still performing well (albeit not as well as the G2).

The Cooler Master V1000 is a Seasonic KM3 unit internally. Unlike the Seasonic counterpart, it's completely an actively cool PSU (so the fan will spin up at lower loads - but still at low RPMs), but it does offer a quieter FDB fan. For $325, it's an excellent high-end unit for a great price that perform comparably to the G2. If you aren't in the need for all of the features of the HXi and concerns about noise levels (fan can spin up over 2000RPM), I would go with this.

The RM1000 is the lowest end PSU out of the bunch. It's made to target the mid-range segment, so it isn't as good as the rest of the units. If you need a gold, fully modular unit and on a tight budget that you can't afford the V1000, this may be an option.

Antec HCP-1000 - Delta build unit <3 - but expensive =(

Edit: Fractal Design Newton 1000w R3 - 2Moro & Tech - $299.99 : http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1339091

Semi-modular, but offer better electrical performance, efficiency, and internal components than the RM1000. I suggest this over the RM1000.

FSP Aurum Pro 1000w - ExtremePC - $210 http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1225930

That was a massive waste of time. Just noticed this which may very well be the best value PSU in the NZ.

I love my CM V 850W so I can only assume the V 1000W is also a good one. I love the design of these baby's and the performance and noise is perfect for me :)
