Dillema! stay with Zalman z11 plus and spend £180 on watercooling or H440 plus h80i?

What to choose the Z11 plus isn't really a good case for water cooling but I love it if I kept it I would be able to get a pretty high end CPU block res and pump since I would only have 2 120 Rads there

On the other hand if I got the h440 I could have better wc support in the future and the h80i really isn't that bad is it also I have a hackintosh so really when I'm installing new stuff I need a DVD drive so Idk suggestions?

Really I thought it was quite good the absolute most I would spend on a aio is £80 which is h80i territory and air cooling is just loud and ugly

What air coolers have you used? AMD Phenom stock coolers?

The H80i is loud (the two fans spin at 1k rpm on quiet mode and if you manually set them to 600rpm where they're finally quiet they move no air through the thick rad) and the pump is also loud.

Something like a Dark Rock Pro3 in a Black NZXT H440 would like quite the part IMO. And it performs better than H80i whilst being cheaper.

H80i is awful IMHO. Loud and not particularly effective.

H440 + good looking air cooler.

I must protest. Mine's nice and quiet, and it keeps my chip at like room temp (around 16-17C w/ arctic silver 5).

To OP. I have a Z11 plus, You simply cannot do custom watercooling in it. There is no where to mount rads. You can't fit a 240 in the top. Best you could really do would be a 120mm in the back, and maybe the bottom, depending on your PSU.

Get the H440, and either get H80i/H100i, etc, or get the H440 and save for water cooling.

Mine wasn't quiet at all. Although my ambient temps were more in line with 20c with chips idling at 35c (are you using an AMD by any chance? Their temp calculation is inaccurate at low temps)

Yes I'm using AMD (sig). I think it's a great piece, and while everyone hates on 120mm coolers, they're plenty. You don't need a 240mm rad for good cooling.

Generally a high end air cooler will be better than a 120mm AIO though, with less chance of failure (due to less moving parts) and lower noise levels. And there are good looking ones on the market but I will agree that an AIO will usually look better.

H80i just isn't very good value for money, and at £80 there are 240 rads available that OP could look at.

Your sensor readings are off. 16-17C is too low. It should idle in the 30s.

It's another rig I've seen it on. My rig says my procs average temp is anywhere from 11C to like 16C (whatever the fuck that is.). But my chip is idle at around 29-30C atm.
