Hello everyone

I'm making my custom built PC desk (pics, credit to a redditor who made these) and I'm thinking about how to regulate the air flow.

I'm already certain about this:

- 3 x 140mm intake on the sides (BeQuiet! pure wings 2)

- 3 x 120mm exhaust fans in the front (Sharkoon blades)

I will install the intake fans like on the pictures, but the exhaust fans I will try to hide as much as possible (from the outside) by creating a slot with a 5-6CM height.

But my question regarding that slot is the following, is it a big problem the slot is only 5-6CM high? while the fans are 12CM high.

Thanks a lot

I suppose you mean to make the square holes smaller than the exhaust fans themselves?

That's going to block some air from getting out. Why not make the exhaust holes circular as well? That will hide the frame of the fans.

Nice table. Make sure the intakes are dust filtered.

Personally I'd rather have the intakes placed at the bottom of the side and exhaust at the top on the same side. That way the air actually has to travel through the whole system instead of just making a left turn to get blown out immediately. Also having holes on the door blowing warm air at you is kinda strange.

1) It wouldn't be different square holes, just 1 "big" open area in front of the exhaust fans.

2) Making them circular was the first idea, but I don't like how that looks

3) Yea, I have the intake fans dust cover already here :D

4) I don't think it will just make a left turn because multiple reasons:

- I will create a fairly big positive pressure inside the PC with bigger intake fans and with the exhaust smaller than the actual exhaust fans

- The 2 fans on my CPU cooler will pull air over the mobo aswell while the fans of my GPU aim to the exhaust so that hot air will be pushed out more effective than an actual computer case. (Where the hot air is pushed down for it to rise again)
