What to do when my friend's laptop doesnt start up? (W355SQ)

The keyboard lights up when he presses the on button but nothing shows on the screen, we have tried unplugging the hard drive to start it up, changing ram slots and spamming delete when the computer starts up but nothing solves the black screen.

Perhaps the connector for the display is not plugged in right?

The display connector might not be plugged in fully or may of been damaged somehow. or the monitor simply broke, a drop can easily break a screen with no external signs that it has been broken.

Ah guess i'll ask him to send it back for repairs then... Thanks!
