Tempature problem!

Go to solution Solved by Faceman,

I see that you also have an Asus motherboard, chances are you have Speedfan conflicting the Fan Xpert.  You need to use one or the other.  I am a massive fan of Fan Xpert, but to each their own.  75C is probably an accurate temperature, but you should have your fans set to a high speed when stress testing.

I just bought an intel i7 4790k, and am in the process of overclocking it. i downloaded ietu to test it, but as soon as i hit the stress test button, my temp instantly jump from around 45ish degrees, to around 75 and bounce around like crazy, while my fan speeds up and slows down. i downloaded speed fan, and it is giving me dirrrent temps, way lower ones and it is slowly rising when i stress test not instantly. Is this a driver issue, or how can i fix this, and which temps cna i trust. i am pretty sure that the speed fan ones are more accurate, but i am not sure. my cooler is an hyper 212 evo.

even if the temps go from 40 to 75 in less that a second?

That is pretty standard.  Remember that your cpu is the thing that is generating the heat.  Your cooler will heat up more gradually because it is absorbing the heat generated by your cpu.

Isopropyl alcohol is all you need for cleaning CPU's and motherboard components.  No, you don't need [insert cleaning solution here].  -Source: PhD Student, Chemistry
