Deathadder 2013 Issue

I got a Razer Deathadder 2013 today and it does not track on my desk (its just a dark brown wooden desk) so i dug out a mouse mat and it now works fine. On the desktop. I started up counter strike to try and get a feel of the mouse and get used to using it but in the first game i played the mouse just stopped tracking every so often while the buttons and lights kept working. Any ideas why i might be having these problems? There is a video below of the issue.

Hmmm, try it on a piece of paper? It should work as mine does on a paper.

 

I'd say return it for a new one if problem persists.

most optical sensors dont play well with most surfaces, although it shouldn't stop tracking completely

 

Does it happen without synapse installed? and did you mess with the lod in synapse?

I think its something to do with the lift off distance, i lift quite a bit when playing games and it seems this is when the problem occurs. I have the lift off distance set to 10 in razer synapse but as soon as it comes off at all it just stops working.

Could be that you've gotten a dud. No other option but to return it.

It's stuff like this that has people divided on Razer products, when they work one could argue that they're quite nice when they don't it just leaves you disappointed.

Also, it works on one of the black booklets that comes with the mouse but not at all on white paper.

It was happening at default settings and it still happens with it at 10.

I didnt know amazon do the instant refund thing, thats cool i wont have to wait another week to be able to play games. I think im going to get the G502

I had the same issue, just go into synapse and configure it with the mouse pad.
