So Im planning on building another pc for recording and rendering PC gameplay. This is going to be my second PC, my first so far doesnt have much problems at the moment so yeahhh (:

My parts Im planning on getting.

"UPDATED"

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/IBIubbleTea/saved/1U2g

"OLD"

Intel Core i7 4770k

Corsair H100i

ASUS ROG Maximus VI Formula  (When it comes out)

Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB

Samsung 840 series 250GB SSD

Western Digital Black 1TB

EVGA Geforce 770 Superclocked with ACX Cooling

Corsair 650D Case

Corsair 760w 80 plus platinum

Asus DRW-24b1st

Im getting i7 4770k because of the Z78 mobo's features but alot of people say the cpu is like "bad" because of the higher temps caused by the cheap thermal paste. Is this in all of their 4th gen cpu's. If I do get a higher temp on like idle should I sent it back and get another one or de lid it?

You must "Quote" to get my attention.

That's a pretty solid system there. I have no experience with haswell so can't tell you much about that but only de lid if you are 100% sure of what you're doing

What's your budget?

A few things:

Dominators are a waste of money.Get them only for looks. Ram is ram. They offer no additional performance.

You could get away with a much cheaper mobo. If you're thinking about getting good overclocks, you're more likely to encounter heat issues before power delivery from the mobo since you're not even doing a custom loop.

The non-pro is marginally slower than the 840 pro. Save your money.

No need to get a caviar black if you already have an ssd. A caviar blue/ seagate barracuda will do.

You could do with a cheaper psu. (non-platinum)

Looking into Overclocking.

Changed it to this. SAMSUNG 840 Series 250GB (IDK about this. I saw some reviews on this and people are saying its crap.)

Woodmaker makes some very good points in his evaluation & remember that there can be a bug or two in new hardware

I'd suggest delidding it.

If I was to de lid it. Im going to do it with my i5 3570k. (MY first build). If I do it right then I would delid the i7 when I finish testing it. Would this be a good thermal paste to use for both outside and inside..? "Arctic Sliver 5 High Density Photosynthetic Silver Thermal Compound" ?

AS5 is decent but there are better TIMs. IC Diamond and NT-H1 are some of the best performers. I'd show you the comparison chart but their site seems to be down at the moment.

Haswell uses the same thermal paste 'design' as the ivybridge - they just get slightly hotter becuase of the IVR. With the H100i you don't really need to worry about temps tho and you're gonna get a decent overclock no problem (4.5 - 4.8 depending on cpu). No need to delid either unless unless you're planning on really heavy OC.

I think deliding is a bad idea and breaks your  warranties agreement plus ruing a good processor or even blowing up your whole system because of few temperature issues deal with it responsible conclusions instead unresponsive mistakes

Hmm, you can quite comfortably fit 2 770's in there with a budget like that--even 2 780's if you cut a few small corners.

I have a samsung 840 (non pro) myself. It's plenty fast and you can't tell the difference between the pro and non-pro. Who's saying it's crap though? Everyone I see agrees the 840/840 pro are great ssds.

Kind of went with a black/red theme here but just a suggestion: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1dt3B

It seems like you want to hit some decently highly clocks. For that, the H220 should be quite a bit better at cooling compared to the H100i.

I just like intel better. Do you know any good z87 boards. IT doesnt look like the H220 work with haswell LGA 1150

Yeah somewhere around 4.5. I want but people say if you do de lid it and change the paste you get like 18*c less for temp.

Whoops. Wrong link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1dAQB

Also, 1150 uses the same mounting as 1155. The h220 works fine.

So I use some of your parts and my parts and this is what I came out with.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/IBIubbleTea/saved/1U2g

Most of my parts I would be going to Memory Express to buy then so I could get a 25% beat of differences. Im not saying that NCIX is bad, just that I can get a better deal at Memory Express.

Other than it could be cheaper (ram and psu), it looks good.

Personally, I prefer the sleeker look of lower profile ram.

Would I have enough power for two 770's and overclocked cpu..? cpu at around 4.5-4.7 with haswell?

A 750w bronze plus should be more than enough for that.

Soo..??? I just finished delidding and I used AS5 and I see not differences...): idk If I messed up or not. So whats the best paste for both inside and outside?

"edit"

kinda see a differences now when playing battlefield 3. Dropped only like 2 degrees. but Idle temps are the same.. :/

The best paste is the one that comes pre-applied. Good application is probably better than a small quality boost.
