If you have the cash, id honestly get a 295x2. That way if you upgrade to a higher res you don't need to worry for the next few years.

Except when each game is released your stuck with a single 290x until a driver gets released (mostly),.. or outright the game may not support Xfire.

That's the only issue I have with multi-GPU's, but I guess thats the risk you take.

:(

/Not that it's a bad thing to throw a lot of horsepower at it... just hope it can all be used.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

1080p get a 970 imo. You could also get a 290x if the price is comparable where you live. It really depends what you prefer. I assume you are a big supporter of AMD or you wouldnt have bought a 9590.

I've hade better luck with AMD. They have had a better user experience, and a wider support platform. But I will buy the better option regardless of the brand.

I came from the 290 series to a 970 and for 1080p the 970 is a better card. Especially if you plan on OC'ing it.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

Games are pretty good on either the 290/970 line of cards...

But the 970 is better slightly for 1080p, even though side by side without FPS counters, you'd be hardpressed to tell the difference..., there are some people who WILL always stick with their fav ecosystem/control panel, which is fair enough..

But there are also games that are severely crippled on AMD compared to Nvidia,..usually gameworks titles,.. but they are becoming WAY more commonplace too.

It's up to you to decide....'For the range of games I play, what is the better card' instead of 'For the resolution I play, what is the better card'

^Normally this was not the case,.. but I believe it is now... when comparing similar cards,...look into performance of what games you play, not what res your driving them with.

Yeah and those games are usually all Ubisoft. Great lets encourage them just fucking over 1 compagny cause they make their ports by shitty eastern european contractors.

Intel 4790 K - R9 295X2 - Gigabyte Z97-SLI - Corsair Vengeance Pro Black 1866 CAL9 - Corsair HX 1000 -Samsung 850 EVO SSD - Samsung HDD - H100I - Corsair C70 - G400 Logitech - Asus VS247H - WASD custom mechanical and QCKPAD!

Staples of LTT: Getting an 4690 K will resurrect your lost family members, AMD = More heat thus AMD = Satan.

Unfortunately Ubisoft makes quite a few games...
