Hackintosh

Go to solution Solved by Benjals,

HDD, and I am asking for what people would guess I would need.

Create a large partition and install, then remove the extra space of the partition afterwards to as small as possible.

If you only want 5 programs on it, there is no point wasting space.

I am looking to make my compute a dual boot hackintosh. I currently have windows on my 250 GB SSD and I have a 1TB drive that is half full in the system. How should I set it up partition wise? I don't need a ton of space for it as i only want about 5 programs and will not be using it for my daily OS. Ideas?

Only certain hardware works with osx. Before you go about installing osx, you should make sure everything works. You don't want to all of a sudden not have a working video card yea?

Mine should work, i7 3770 and GTX 660 ti

You can check if your components are compatible here, http://www.hackintosh.com/#hackintosh_compatible

You'll also need to know what motherboard you have, as only certain motherboards work too.

installing it on the ssd or the hdd?

Just partition the drive you want to the amount of space you will need for the full install (and give it a bit more head room) and you can change the size if you need to afterwards.

That site is very incomplete, I have heard of  people using different components than listed and it working.

Well without checking you'll never know for sure. What you do, you're doing at your own risk, so all the more power to you.
