Is MSI's OC genie a good way to just get to 4.0Ghz on a i5 4670K when you don't really have the confidence in overclocking yourself?

If not is there any like REALLY good overclocking tutorials?

Generally it's not recommended to use auto-overclocking software, and/or software to overclock within Windows. These usually apply more voltage then is needed for the clock speed on most chips and therefore reduces the lifespan of both the chip as well as the motherboard (VRMs)

Why do people shy away from overclocking?

Is it because of the scary UI? I mean it's not that hard to screw around with the multipliers.

@Gilbert experiment a bit. Trust me, if anything happens you can always clear the CMOS.

the voltages are what scare people
