Ive been offered a 290 tri-x for $240 that was lightly used other than mining for a week or so in a well ventilated case, and a Gigabyte 280x thats pretty much brand new for $150

 

Ill be playing games at 2560x1080, worth getting the 290 or just grab the 280x?

290 for sure, a little bit of overclocking assures you a 290X.

The 290 is worth it. It'll handle that resolution quite nicely. 280X:290::290:970
