Is it time? ...Or not?

So I just ordered a r9 290x oem (stop complaining... it was for 250 euro) and I am kinda worried about the heat.

In you opinion, should I upgrade to water cooling, or just buy a third party cooler for the 290x?

I have a i5 2500k

Please recommend which, and which one of which (lol)

I have 450 euro spending money, but I srsly dont wanna spend too much.

Dude I really didn't wanna spend it all, and that would be overkill for my monitor, and my cpu would probably bottleneck it.

No single card will be bottlenecked by a 2500k, especially with an overclock.

No but really, go for the air rig, they're great fun. Tinkering is easier and swapping fan setups is fun too  

 

A 295x2 would have been cool alright, as Uwillparish said. You could grab a kraken g10 and a cheap 120mm aio, that'd work well and is  fun project.

Although I really enjoy messing around with my PC, (more than gaming, ironically ) I think you're right. I don't have the money to go water.

Tell me about it! It's hard to do it past a certain point. Although makes modding oh so tempting. 

 

Yeah that's the thing about watercooling, as awesome as it is, it costs an arm and a leg :L

If you have a loop already on the CPU, go all out and add a GPU block.

 

Otherwise, I say try going for the Kraken G10 route.

Basically a GPU mod by adding an AIO. The only issue is cooling the VRAM modules.
