PSU up or down?

Go to solution Solved by insayan,

I usually put a piece of cardboard under mine if there's carpet floors hehe.

You'll still get quite a lot more dust in a room with carpet than without. I used to maintain laptops for a company that had 2 buildings, one with carpet everywhere and one without and I could tell immediately what building they came from as soon as I opened them up

Hi everyone,

This has probably been discussed before, but what is the optimal direction for facing the PSU? There probably is no right or wrong answer, but I was just wondering your guys' opinions.

I personally have jne facing down btw.

Mine has its fan facing down, my case has pretty high feet and there's a filter so that's the best option for me.

Down if possible, as it means the fan intakes cooler outside air rather than exhausting hotter air from inside the case

Really depends on your case and where you're going to place the computer. Having the psu fan down would mean that it could draw in fresh air rather than air from inside your case, but you might want to mount it fan up if you have carpet for example.

I have mine facing up. I get enough cold air into my case so I'm good there.
