Hi guys,

I have a simple question... I have a Perixx PX-2000 as a keyboard, can i remove the keys to clean them? Is it "safe"?

Thank you,

as far as i know every keyboard should have safely removable keys

you need to use a little force :)

That's pretty wrong, actually. Many rubber domes will entirely break with keys removed.

OP: Rubber domes don't like having keys removed. It has serious potential to damage the key/keycap.

It's likely for them to break ( according to my personal experience of removing keycaps from rubber dome boards ).

So my keyboard has rubber domes? So i shouldnt remove them but clean the kb without detaching the keys...

Given that it only costs $30, and mechanicals typically start at around $60 (brand name, at least), it's probably not mechanical. Rubber dome and scissor switches are the only other common option and neither of them handle keycap removal well. So yeah, you'll have to find a way to clean it without removing keys, risk breaking it but remove keys, or replace the board.
