i7 or i5 ?

Hello guys, i have a AMD CPU and i want to change to Intel.

 

I want to stream, so i was wondering if i can stream and play at the same time with the i5 4670k and get good performance.

What you guys recommend considering price/performance.

 

BTW some spec's:

 

-> GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 OC

-> MOBO and GPU -> what to buy ?

-> Hyper x Fury 8G Ram DDR3 1600mhz

I would get the I5 4690K

yes, but i would reccommend a 4690k, get a z97 obviously, brand doesn't really matter, but a 4690k is cheaper and-better.

You can use a i5 no problem. But for streaming and making video's I'd def recommend an i7 if you can afford it.

If you plan on keeping this rig for awhile id grab the i7 and it definetly helps in streaming

what amd cpu are you running? in many cases an 8350 will run smoother streaming that an i7. one of the few cases where more less powerful cores actually can be better

I have the FX-8350 but when im playing MMO's my fps drop like sh**t . I get so much better performance with my old i3 on MMO's. I just want to change to Intel . I want to know if is it worth it to spend more 100€ on a i7. I have reading alot and ppl say that the i5 4690K for its price and performance is the best out there.

something you can maybe consider if you're into cheaper parts..

Yes an i5-4690k is perfectly acceptable for gaming

Not many games will benefit from hyperthreading so if your not rendering or encoding, save money and go i5

Id reccomend a Xeon to you. When i bought mine, it was the same price as the i5 4670k and, you cant oc but rendering, streaming and stuff like that is godlike.

I wouldn't recommend the Xeon E3 CPUs since the cheaper ones don't have integrated GPUs and thus don't have Quick Sync, which seems like it should be pretty important for someone who cares about streaming without overwhelming his CPU with it.

Get a Xeon E3 if you aren't dead set on overclocking.

 

They're essentially i7-4770's without integrated graphics at an almost i5 price.
