Were are not talking about CPU performance, we are talking about GPU performance. I went from a 1GB 7770 to a 3GB 7950 and saw no difference in DayZ. Also having dual 660tis doesn't  matter considering DayZ doesn't really support SLI. Also @totjup5 went from a 660ti to a 970 and saw no frame difference, therefore that is a indication that the game isn't graphically intensiveness but rather CPU bound.

Your really don't need to upgrade anything... DayZ goes through spurts of running great and running like ass. It's just the way it is, it's in alpha. I have a 290 and sometimes it still lags for me. My friend has an extreme edition i7 and he still lags, so it doesn't matter what cpu you have. Personally I'm just waiting for the game to be done to play it again.

 

Also, it doesn't run on the ArmA engine for those saying that... Many things have changed to optimize it for a MMO environment. For instance in ArmA II if you pick up a gun, or open a door, everyone, even people on the other side of the map, get sent that update. In DayZ standalone that doesn't happen. AI should be much less stressful on the server, etc.

I am trying to play dayz and am only getting 20-30 frames max. Changing the graphical settings seems to have zero affect on fps or if it is there I could not notice it while using msi afterburner for fps counter. My system is i7 3770 and a 660 ti. I have tried stock and overclocked gpu with no performance gain ( granted it was only 100mhz).

 

Any idea on improving fps? This is unplayable, it was fine till I explored other games that I could run at 60 fps and not 20-30 sucks. 

 

Is this the mod or standalone? On the mod I got 60FPS and only dipped in the big cities

Standalone, standalone is very heavy do to the amount of objects. Plus the mod is well a mod of a 2010 game.
