how often do 3tb drives go down to that price in the US?

Pretty much daily.

The seagate barracuda 3TB was $79.99 about a month ago, and it's $86.99 right now @ NCIX.

I saw a 4TB external for $109.99  IIRC and a 4TB SSHD for $139.99, that's what I've come to think of as a great deal.

Personally I don't like the greens series since entry are *slow regard less of the silence

 

I dunno, I have a 3tb one fill with games and they run just fine :D and I have had it for absolutely years
