Will I be bottlenecked?

I'm upgrading my gpu, and my current pc might somehow bottle neck it. I bought a "xfx r7 260" wich isn't installed yet. My processor is the "Intel Core i3-2130" and I have 4gb of RAM and a whopping 250 watt power supply. I know, I know this pc sound horrible. It's an HP pc I bought 2 years ago and I can still very well game on it, just with all the settings low as sh*t (also the reason why I'm updgrading). So can someone tell me if the r7 260x will be bottlenecked and by how much?

Shouldn't be bottlenecked by much if at all. But the 250W PSU worries me. It might not start ...

I don't think the bottleneck would be huge but you probably should not put the 260x in with that psu. I will assume it's just some crap prebuilt power supply? You would need a quality 250w at the least to not have it blow up. So invest in a power supply of some sort first.

I'm more worried about that power supply, can you provide some more info on that?

Pascal Undervolting topic, get more out of your card with less power!

Why high refreshrate monitors look better even without Freesync/G-sync in one image.
Stutters, framedrops, "lag". How to provide detailed information with your "bottleneck" question, as well as a few solutions.

It might be bottlenecked a little but that CPU still has some life left in it and 4GB of RAM is still enough for most games. I would seriously think about upgrading your power supply to something that can provide more wattage such as the "Corsair CX430" because that system with the new GPU in it will be likely getting very close to pulling 250 Watts when gaming.

The power supply came with another HP pc that my dad had left, quite new. We took it out for this upgrade because I knew I needed more that what i allready had. Is there anyway I can check if I'll be fine or not? Oh en how much would a good powersupply cost?

I would grab a GeForce GTX 750 instead, similar performance but uses less power and will be able to comfortably run on your current power supply.

Some variants of the GTX 750 do but you can get variants that only require the power supplied by the PCI-e slot :)

If it doesn't have the required power it simply won't work. A decent PSU that will run that system with that GPU just fine would be pretty cheap. I would take a look at these power supplies.

I still need to know what would happen before I deside anything. The card is a "used" card. It's still new out of the box. Bought it for 83 euros wich is around 90 dollars. Not a bad deal, maby I can sell it again and buy the gtx 750.

I would recommend just trying to sell it for about enough to get a GTX 750 that does not require external power so you don't have to worry about upgrading your power supply :)

I am not really aware of what the prices would be like in The Netherlands but I would just look on local classifieds sites and see what everyone else is selling theirs for and sell yours for about the same price :) As for the GTX 750 price I would recommend just trying to find the cheapest used one you can that looks in good condition. If you don't want to buy used then just go to your local PC store and get the cheapest one that they have there.

I've heard hardware prices in Netherlands can be pretty high. You might want to consider importing form France or Germany. Thanks to the EU there are no taxes and shipping isn't more expensive.
