Hello everyone!

This is my first post because I'm having some questions regarding my first ever PC build.

This is the setup:

Motherboard: MSI A58M-E33 A58 RG SM

CPU: AMD A8 7600 APU (When I bought this one I didn't have enough cash yet to buy a discrete GPU)

RAM: 8GB G.Skill ripjaws 1600 MHZ

GPU: MSI R9 270x

PSU: Sharkoon 500watt

Sandisk 128Gb ssd and a WD green 1TB

Now, I know its not the best, but its enough for me.

During games like bf4 I get a good framerate, but sometimes I get stutters. In afterburner it sais the CPU is used 100%, even when using Mantle.

Is this a bottleneck or is there any way to lower the CPU usage?

During WoW I get a good framerate when playing on high, more than 60 fps. But when I look at afterburner, CPU and GPU usage stay around 60-70% and only 3gb of ram is used, is this fine or should it display more. (vSync is off)

Could you guys clarify this for me please?

I've included a pic of MSI afterburner during BF4..

Battlefield 4 is a game that that needs quite some CPU horsepower and it seems like the A8 isn't quite enough to handle it. There's not really anything you can do since you haven't got the K version (so overclocking isn't really an option). You could switch to an Athlon 760K, but I doubt it would help much.

Thanks guys I've figured it out.

WoW doesn't seem to hit 100% but I'm also not getting anything else hitting 100% like the CPU or ram and I'm getting nowhere near 60 fps on ultra with AA. Which still seems odd to me.

On the other hand, while playing BF4, the lagg im getting is because of the turbo core technology. When disabled, BF4 seems to run fine. I think this has to do with the cores going down in speed sometimes and therefor the game has an fps drop sometimes.

Assuming you aren't running a huge number of background tasks while gaming, the only way to lower CPU usage is to play games that demand less of the CPU.

BF4 multiplayer can be very CPU-heavy at times, and that little A8 is going to struggle a bit just because it's a very low-end processor. You could experiment with your video settings, but chances are most of those only increase/decrease your video card's workload. In some games, shadow quality can impact the CPU a bit.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try the shadow settings.

With AMD turbo core technology disabled I'm able to get a consistent framerate in BF4
