I could really only get one side to line up perfectly. Whether it be the right, left, top, or bottom, two screws went in perfectly but the other two not so much. I have a 4.7 overclock on the proc right now and I get max temps around 93 after a 24 hour stress. Even playing Titanfall on a Swift the proc would hot 80 or so.

Here is my Dropbox link for the back of the board.

I would try remounting it. It sounds like the mounting brackets might be universal so they can fit on a bunch of different sockets if you move the screws a little bit. Check the manual to see what position they should be in for your specific socket, that should help.

@deigo73 can you put the screws through the holes normally (off the motherboard). It could be the thread in the hole of the back plate.

@EmeraldKiwi I had this block installed with my 4770K with no issues, and it was initially installed on this 4790K with no issues. When I put the system back together, though, I couldn't get it to go through. In all fairness I had already spent quite a while putting other components together and didn't spend more than 30min trying to figure this out.

@Bittenfleax Yeah I can get the screws through each hole normally when the block isn't on the back of the board. Super weird...

@deigo73 tru and fine the cause of the obstruction (see of anything is in the way on the other side).

Try taking the back plate off and fully threading the mounting screws completely a few times in each mounting point. Might have just cross threaded one side a bit. If you feel too much resistance going in to that one side, or if the screw starts wildly tilting, it would be best to buy/borrow a tap and die set from someone and re-thread it, not sure on the threading pattern/size though

He already tested it, and it is not the thread.  :D

That is actually a good idea and sounds promising. I'll give that a whirl today or tomorrow and see what I come up with. If need be I will buy a tap and die set. I hate borrowing things  :P

Metric tap and die sets are usually hard to find in the US, and come with a hefty price tag in that size. If you had a buddy with a kit it would be waaaay cheaper. I turn into Gollum with my sets
