Help learning Unix File processing

So I am taking a network Admin Unix class this semester, and while I have had some challanges I pretty much understand the basics, what I am having a hard time with is  chapter 4  and 5 on   File processing  particulerly using the "awk: command  and pipleine operators, does anyone have a good source for them ?

Haha alright, just making sure you checked the basics. I am not too aware of any good resources but a quick Google search came up with this that might help

thanks, trust me  man was the man  the first command I learned

 

I mean I understand  how to copy paste and join files (although I need to study up on them a bit more) as well as redirect and touch files but awk  really confuses me,

 

as my instructer said " the next two chapters on file processing will make you want to tear your hair out" and well she is dead on
