I want a job in the tech industry, most likely in robotics (humanoids are interesting to me), mainstream tech products (like keyboards, mice, monitors etc. but it would be very hard to establish a new company) or software (anything with it).

My question is how profitable are those branches of the industry? And what are the MOST profitable branches? Compared to something like lawyers, doctors etc.?

Thanks

How good?

I cannot give an accurate answer to that question since I don't know your country, but in Sweden, the average salary is about 25000 SEK. I think you could make atleast 40000 but easily more, also depending on where you work and for how long you've been doing it. Hell you could make 60000.

Things like database architects, network architects/engineers and systems analyst can all earn over £100,000 after a fair amount of experience.

The odds of someone actually being that good at something to get a job like that is very slim, although one could try.

100k in a year?

If you get the right qualifications and experience. It will also depend slightly on luck, with the opportunities that come up for you.

In general, advanced computing jobs pay quite well (not IT jobs). At the end of my degree (about 6 months) I can apply for a job that starts at around £28,000.

True, but having the attitude of 'ah, it's unlikely to happen, so I won't try' means that there's no chance of getting that sort of pay. Even if you don't get over 6 digits, those types of jobs pay well from the start, so it's worth going for.

Tech industry is one of the most important yet undermanned fields in the world, if not the most. If you get a degree in Computer Science, you can find a job as soon as you get out of college. In fact, chances are that companies will be on their knees asking you to come work for them once you have your degree.

Job security, you'll hardly be in want of work. And it pays very, very well too. you're not going to get rich off of it, most likely, but you'll be very well-off indeed.

what specific job are you qualified?

They don't say. There's a placement that has the qualifications needed and the salary, but they don't say what it is. There's NDAs and such involved with places like AWE, so I'm assuming the most you could tell people is your job title, if that.

Software especially the mobile gaming category is a great way to start your own company. And if your company establishes a name you can expect people to keep tabs on your works and have  more downloads on your new games making it easier to spread the game

I think engineering pays good. I'm personally studying to become a software engineer and I hear that it pays very good.

What gymnasie-program did you study? How far into your studies are you at the moment? How do you like it?

I'm just a fellow swede that's having a hard time figuring out what to study later on. :)
