"safely ejecting" usb and hard drives?
Go to solution
Solved by DevilishBooster,
Is it better to do this? What does it do exactly? I always just did it because I was told too. Curious why this is.
Essentially it just ensures that there is no active data transfer going between the computer and the USB device so that you don't potentially remove the device while it's being read/written to, therefor avoiding data corruption/incomplete transfers. It's not required, but it is a good idea.
